Have you ever tasted this luxury food product? Yes, range of foie gras is a luxury food product which is made of the liver of the duck or goose. These ducks and goose are kept in farm and specially fattened to obtain liver in thick and fresh quantity. Though in some countries it has been banned as forcing ducks and goose are not mandatory. But some farming house owners say that ducks are themselves, by their own will, giving them their liver and there is no force done. How much is this statement true never know but some French law has been established stating that foie gras is the liver of a duck or goose fattened by force- feeding corn with a feeding tube, a process also called as gavage. Forces feeding of ducks are done twice a day for around 12.5 days and three times a day to geese for around 17 days. Ducks are typically destroyed at 100 days and geese at 112 days.

Foie gras is a famously known and well accomplished delicacy in French cuisine, people enjoy. Its flavor is defined as rich, buttery, and delicate, apart from that of a simple duck or goose liver. Range of foie gras is available in market and sold as whole, or is made into mousse or parfait to enjoy its flavor and may also be served as an attachment to another food item, such as steak. Some French law states that “Foie gras belongs to the protected cultural and gastronomical heritage of France.”

You can find free range foie in restaurants and market. But the question is does it work? Some critics were complaining that in Sousa’s foie there is a lack of yellow tinge they ache for, which usually comes from the dyed factory corn typical geese gorge on. Thus to solve the issue he took action and planted bright orange colored flowers near his own surrounding area in the grounds of his farm. Soon solution gave result and geese feasted those flowers and his blindingly invisible yellow foie gras was born. This way its production started and people liked it.  If you visit once these places where foie gras is obtained and served you will find it equally delicious but if not banned as there are still some places where it is being banned and thinking logically, it’s good to keep it banned.

In some places, foie gras is present in different, legally defined presentations, ordered by expense. For example you can find foie gras enter which is form of whole foie gras. It is made up of one or two whole liver lobes in the cooked or semi cooked or even fresh form as you wish. Some foie gras is made of pieces of livers packed together. One major type of gras used is bloc de foie gras. It is a fully cooked, moulded block which contains more than 90% of foie gras. You can buy these food products available as free range too and cook and home or even enjoy its delicious taste in restaurants near you.
